K/1 Learns About the Longest Train Rail Yard in the U.S.

While learning about the state of Nebraska this week, our friends in kindergarten and first grade discovered that the longest train rail yard is in North Platte, Nebraska.

3rd Grade Presents: Fiction Storytelling

The 3rd-grade class has been working on fiction stories; this week, they read a story called “The Best Story” for inspiration and then shared their own fiction pieces with each other.

Treasure Hunt in K-5th Devotions

K-5th graders learned that the Kingdom of God is like finding treasure — so they got to be outside and look for treasure on the playground. Everyone went home with something fun!

Nutrition Education for K-5th Grade

Our K-5th grade has been learning about balanced nutrition this week, and they’ve done some really fun activities to go along with that learning. They’ve:

  • Recognized the importance of incorporating a rainbow of color into their diet
  • Played a game with a guest speaker – one of our own Learnwell parents – who shared about Whoa, Slow, and Go foods
  • Made healthy treats out of yogurt (you can find the recipe in the photo roundup)

Middle Schoolers Enjoy Game Time at AFT

Our 6th-8th grade students organized a few games to play together at AFT this month. AFT is their monthly hangout time — it also means toward the back, or stern, of a ship. Toward the end of a school day, these students enjoy their time together.

K/1 Make Chalk Art with 6th/7th Buddies

This week, our 6/7th grade and K/1st grade buddies went outside to enjoy the sunshine and make chalk art.

K-5th Play Outside

Outside recess is always a big hit, even on cloudy days!

Garden Reminder: Don’t forget to send in any garden supplies you no longer need and keep maintaining your compost for our spring garden. It’s almost time for planting!
