STEAM Unit Kickoff
Building up to our Innovation Expo next month, teachers kicked off our STEAM unit for K-5th grade this week. They were able to find like-minded students who wanted to research an area of science, technology, engineering, art or math that interests them. We can’t wait to see what all the students come up with for their projects!

Final Club Day of the Year: Frogs, Lizards, Ducklings, and Soccer
Our club days have been a huge hit this year! We’ve benefitted from these students’ creativity and resourcefulness. Our hope is that all of our students have had the chance to learn leadership skills and increase their executive functioning skills through the club program. We can’t wait to see what they dream up for clubs next year.

Persuasive Writing in 2nd Grade
The second grade class wrapped up their final writing unit for the year with persuasive writing. This unit was called “Persuasive Writing: Writing for a Change.” They wrote letters to champion change in their communities, at school, and in their family life. Here they celebrated by reading their essays aloud and hosting a Young Authors Awards ceremony with donuts.

Used Curriculum Sale
A member of our LW community asked a terrific question this week in our private Facebook group. In case you missed it, the question was: Is this (our Facebook group) a place where I can post unused curriculum and supplies that I’d like to sell?
Dr. Shipman answered by sharing about a summer sale that’s in the works. Read below:
That’s a great question! We’re about to share summer assignments for current students (just a little work over the summer to keep their brains moving), so I’d recommend waiting until then just to make sure you don’t sell something you need. We’ll organize a used curriculum sale here early this summer as well.
