Kindergarten and First Graders Plant Zinnia Seeds and Make Oobleck

Dr. Seuss books are legendary, so of course, he had to be celebrated! Students in first grade planted zinnia seeds in the spirit of one of his books about planting, and kindergarteners tried their hand at making oobleck, the ooey-gooey substance in “Bartholomew and Oobleck.”

4th & 5th Grade Practice Math Skills Using Cards, M&Ms, Real-World Applications & Battleship Games

Fourth graders practiced averages with M&Ms, divided names and brains into fractions, and practiced divisibility with a card game while fifth graders made fraction pizzas and practiced adding and subtracting fractions by playing Fraction Battleship.

Learning About Invertebrates and Vertebrates in 3rd-5th Grade

Third, fourth, and fifth graders joined together to learn about invertebrates and vertebrates using task cards this week.

Read Across America: PJs, Playground, Popcorn & Flashlight Fun

Whether they were dressed in pajamas, outside on the playground, eating popcorn, in a tent or using flashlights, our K-5th grade students enjoyed reading in all sorts of ways to celebrate National Read Across America Week.

Games with Buddies in 6th/7th Grade & K/1st Grade

Time with their 6th and 7th grade buddies is one of the highlights in kindergarten and first grade. This week, they enjoyed the sunshine by playing games together on the playground.

8th & 9th Graders Dissect Worms in Biology

Biology students are gearing up for a large progression in dissection. This week, they took on worms. Stay tuned for what they dissect next week!

Middle and High School Students Listen to Guest Speaker about Discovering Your Purpose

Guest speaker Harrison Christman, a junior in college who is also a pilot and a flight instructor, spoke to all middle and high school discipleship classes this week. He shared his story about how God gave him what he thought were weaknesses until he discovered that God had wired him uniquely to be a pilot. A love of adventure, enjoyment of people, and willingness to work hard carried him through flight school while completing his high school and college studies. Harrison shared that paying attention to how God has wired you, what sparks passion in your life, and how God speaks to you are all important markers to discovering your God-given purpose.

Rainy Day Play: Students Play Four Square After School

Even a little rain can’t stop the Four Square game! High school students and teachers joined in this week, too.

Learning God’s Promises in K-5: Strength

Leaning into God’s strength is a promise that our K-5th grade devotionals helped students learn this week. Students cemented the truths by making plaster of Paris imprints of the cross. Not only is it possible to be strengthened by God, but it’s His promise!

REACH Art Workshop Final Creations

Last week’s REACH art-focused workshop netted some amazing creations. Take a look! (And don’t forget to register your son or daughter for the upcoming Arts Showcase. All the registration links are in your weekly newsletter.)

Tellus Science Museum Field Trip Photos

Our 6th & 7th grade students learned about minerals, rocks, and space last week at the Tellus Science Museum field trip. They participated in cooperative demonstrations to show the distance between planets and how the various planets are impacted by speed and rotation. They finished off the field trip by panning for minerals.
