8th Graders Go to Savannah, GA

Going to Savannah, Georgia, helps cement so much of what our 8th graders have learned this year about the history of their state.

Dissection of Crawfish and Grasshoppers in Biology

The 8th & 9th graders in biology have continued their dissections; this week, they learned about crawfish and grasshoppers.

Spirit Week: Decades & Fancy Attire Days

Our 8th & 9th graders voted and decided on the Spirit Week themes this spring. They chose Decades Day and Fancy Attire Day. Can you guess which decade our students in costume are from? Enjoy these blasts from the past and seeing students all dressed up.

Water Is Basic Special Guest Visits K-7th Grade

Our K-7th graders listened to a presentation about the clean water initiatives that Water Is Basic does in South Sudan. (See your newsletter for details about the Walk for Water fundraiser on Mar. 26, or ask your students for the take-home letter they received on Tuesday.) The K-5th graders also made encouraging posters that teachers will hold up during the walk in a couple of weeks as they cheer on the students who are going the extra mile for clean water.

New Testament Presentations in 8th Grade

The eighth graders have been studying the letters of Paul in Discipleship, and they presented what they learned as group projects.

9th Grade Health Project Displays

Ninth graders have been learning about health and wellness, and they presented their findings through displays on topics such as sleep hygiene, body neutrality, and nutrition.

Playing UNO and Birthday Fun During Middle & High School Lunch

A few middle school students celebrated birthdays this week, and middle and high school students have enjoyed playing UNO at lunch lately.

K-2nd Grade Make Leprechaun Traps Together

Kindergarteners, first, and second graders enjoyed anticipating St. Patrick’s Day by getting creative with all kinds of classroom supplies — to make leprechaun traps.

8th/9th Graders Celebrate Pi Day

In honor of 3/14, students in eighth and ninth grade celebrated Pi Day by bringing in pies to enjoy together.

3rd-5th Graders Learn About Invertebrates and Vertebrates

Learning about plant biodiversity has helped students in 3rd through 5th grade have a deeper appreciation for flowers, plants, and the environment.

6th/7th Grade Studies Micah in Discipleship

Through memory games and other activities, the sixth and seventh graders continued their study of the OT prophets this week by learning about Micah’s leadership.

Buddies in K/1 and 6th/7th Craft Together

Spending time with their buddies is one of the highlights of the Kindergarteners and first graders’ week here at Learnwell, and it helps our sixth and seventh graders practice leadership skills.

Hot Day and Cool Ice Cream at AFT

It was a perfectly hot afternoon for our middle and high school students to have some “chill” time after school. They relaxed and played games with a little relief from the heat: ice cream!

Mystery Reader in 3rd Grade

Our third graders were treated to a Mystery Reader guest this week. We’re sure it inspired them to keep LEAPING through the LEAP for Reading Challenge.
