Mother Son Night

Moms and their boys had a blast at Main Event, playing laser tag, bowling, and all sorts of games. The BINGO card winners were entered into a drawing for an Amazon gift card, and those families will be notified via e-mail by Saturday. (Hint, Hint: You have until Friday at noon to get your BINGO card photos to Mrs. Turbyfill.)

Thanks for playing!

Author Visit in 4th and 5th Grade

One of the perks of having a published children’s author in our midst is getting to host a book reading! Author Laurel Hamby shared with the elementary school her book, Kiki Comes Home, and talked to our 4th and 5th graders all about the writing process.

Congratulations to Our Published Authors

Eight Learnwell students will have their poetry featured in an upcoming edition of Creative Communication’s National Poetry Anthology: two from Mrs. Cori’s class and six from Mrs. Charlene’s class. Congratulations, students!

A New Look for a New Year: LearnwellCollective.org

If you haven’t been to our website lately, take a look. We got a refresh for spring. Feel free to share it with friends whom you think might be interested in pursuing a Learnwell education for their children.

4th and 5th Graders Tackle Feet, Yards, Graphs, and Peer Editing

The 4th and 5th graders have had a full week! They’ve helped each other edit their writing, learned about multiple kinds of graphs, measured in feet and yards and finished off the week learning about mode and median.

K/1 Makes Snowflakes with 6th/7th Buddies

The 6th and 7th graders always do such fun projects with their K/1 buddies. When there’s no snow in Georgia, they make their own!

7th Grade Brain Break

To celebrate a job well done, a couple of 7th graders took a brain break and played a game after they finished their pre-algebra tests.

K-5 Shows Off Genetics Unit Task Card Sculptures

Students jumped into a new science unit this week all about genetics! Check out their cool sculptures.

Setting New Routines and Rhythms

We like to take this time of year to remind you that if something didn’t work for your family last semester, it’s okay to change it. That’s what the homeschool process is all about — making sure your routines and rhythms work. Here are a few places to help you as you reflect on

  • What worked last semester?

Creating a Family Command Center that works for you can be tricky. On the “Mom of 6” blog, learn how to revamp your family’s command center — or start one for the first time.

As always, if you are having trouble deciding which routines and rhythms to re-think, talk to your child’s teacher. Learnwell teachers have incredible ideas for getting into a new groove for spring.
