How much money did the 6th/7th-grade holiday bazaar raise for kids at CHOA?

Let’s congratulate our 6th/7th-grade class for raising $659.25 for patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. All of the handicrafts they sold were thoughtful and wonderfully made. They have a terrific fund to buy toys and blankets for children who are in the Alpharetta Radiology Center of CHOA. Thank you to every parent who allowed their child to shop for a cause!

K/1 and 2nd-grade students host Mystery Readers

One of our students’ grandma, who speaks three languages, came to read a few snowy stories to our kindergarten and first-grade students. And another multi-lingual Mystery Reader visited our 2nd-grade class this week.

2nd/3rd graders record sweet “thankful” videos in the StoryDrive Lab

They are so grateful for you, Mom and Dad!

Lava lamp science

Second and third-grade students got the chance to learn about how lava lamps are made!

Club Day No. 3: Origami and karate

Our third Club Day was a success! Origami and karate were huge hits.

K/1 and 6th-7th grade buddies enjoy a Thanksgiving feast

They made butter and fried pies to eat together in celebration of Thanksgiving.

K-8 discuss what they’re grateful for at lunch

Students were encouraged to talk about various people, activities, and foods they’re thankful for at lunch on Thursday as we anticipate the Thanksgiving holiday.

8th graders record Language Arts presentations in the StoryDrive Lab, have fun in their history study hall

The 8th-grade class wrote persuasive essays and speeches to go along with them. Then, they spent time in the StoryDrive Lab recording their persuasive speeches, learning on-set instructions, and practicing oration skills. They’re also learning so much about Georgia history – looking forward to their field trip to Savannah in March.

Electives end with a bang

Before our electives in January 2023 begin, we’d like to thank all the families who participated in our fall electives. Ukulele, walking-and-workout club, and chess were popular extracurricular learning opportunities this semester. Way to go, students!

You have outdone yourselves – thank you for giving to charity!

Thank you to all the families who brought in supplies for foster children and who donated to help missionary families. Whether you’re in kindergarten, 8th grade, or somewhere in between, we invite you to join us on Dec. 2 to stuff stockings for foster children. All the details are in your weekly newsletter.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
