6th/7th Graders Enjoy a Movement-Centered Lunch Break

The proof is in the pictures; middle school students still love to be active! This week, they took advantage of a sunny day and played Four Square after they ate lunch outside.

8th Grade Discipleship and Life Skills

In Discipleship and Life Skills, our 8th graders learn so many skills that are easily forgotten. Last week, our 8th graders learned about how to host and not just be a guest; they also learned how to listen with empathy. This week, they discussed Colossians 3: putting off the old life and putting on our new lives in Christ!

Middle and High School AFT Fun

AFT continues to be a fun way for our older students to connect. At this month’s after-school hangout, many played outdoor games.

Buddies in K/1 and 6th/7th Work on Art Together

This week, our kindergarteners and first graders worked on a special art project to help them practice how to follow step-by-step instructions. They drew a penguin together.

After-School American Sign Language Elective Kicks Off

Our first week of ASL was a smash hit. They started with the alphabet and are quickly moving on to words and phrases!

Students Plant Spring Peas in the School Garden

Our second and third graders planted sugar snap peas and carrots this week in the garden. They measured 2 inches apart and 2 inches deep, so they counted by 2’s as they planted.

8th/9th Grade Biology Students Collect Microbe Samples

Our biology students collected microbe samples to place them in a growth medium in a petri dish this week.

K-2nd Graders Explore Careers in a Fun Way

A few moms of students in our kindergarten, first, and second-grade classrooms organized a meetup for students to pretend to be in certain careers at the imaginative museum, Interactive Neighborhood for Kids, last Friday.

Serving at Hospital Art Foundation

Anyone 12 years old and up was invited to participate in our final service project during Service Week last Friday. Students and parents helped paint canvases through the Foundation for Hospital Art. The artwork will be shipped all over the country to schools, senior centers, and hospitals. (And pizza afterwards was just a bonus!)

Black American Project Presentations (6th & 7th Grade)

To finish up their study of important Americans who made a difference by standing up for what is right and in honor of Black History Month, students in 6th and 7th grade presented research projects about Jesse Owens, Bessie Coleman, and Dorothy Vaughan.

K-5 Devotions and Playground Fun

In devotions this week, our K-5 students learned that God is our provider, as He promised in Matthew 5 to clothe the flowers of the field. How much more does He provide for His children? So they made origami flowers, and the fun continued on the playground where many wanted to make more flowers. Recess time is always a big hit to get the energy out after lunch.

Yearbook Staff Plans the 2023-2024 Yearbook

Our yearbook staff is hard at work getting ready for the 2023-2024 yearbook to be published later this spring.
