K-5 students share what they have to make Stone Soup during devotional time

Our K-5th graders learned about the power of one during the devotional time on Thursday. Each student brought one can, and together, they made three giant batches of soup to feed the entire school. (Middle schoolers even had seconds!) The recipe goes along with the esteemed children’s book, Stone Soup, by Ann McGovern.

8th-grade field trip to Warm Springs and Andersonville, Georgia

Our 8th graders have the opportunity to attend field trips throughout the year as they accomplish Georgia history requirements throughout the year. One such field trip was to see The Little White House – FDR’s home away from home – and the Andersonville National Historic Site and POW Museum.

4th/5th graders enjoy outdoor reading and math/story games

The 4th and 5th graders had a menu of options this week to reinforce what they’re learning in reading and math. Here, some read outside, some played story games in the library, and others got to take a hands-on approach to math.

K-5 Science Experiments: Learning the Scientific Method

As promised, the next science unit is all about getting ready for the science fair on Dec. 1! Our K-5 students learned this week about the scientific method in two ways: an egg float experiment and a color-changing milk experiment.
