Teacher Appreciation Week
Our teachers are so beloved, and it was fun to shower them with recognition this week; on Tuesday, they enjoyed an encouragement breakfast where students had written some of their favorite memories of each teacher. On Thursday, room moms organized classroom gifts to deliver to each teacher. Thank you, teachers, for all that you do.

Hearing God Interviews
The final “hearing God” interview was one that a student inspired. When the 8th-grade class was asked to identify a person they believe hears from God and interview them, one student asked, “Mrs. Maher, who are you going to interview?” So, Mrs. Maher’s friend from church came and spoke about how she is learning to recognize the voice of God in her own life.

7th Graders Present Genius Projects
Every year, the seventh graders spend a portion of spring semester researching a “big idea” that they’re interested in and passionate about; this week, students presented their findings to a group of parents on everything from traveling to France, what it takes to pursue an Olympic ice skating career, learning Spanish and why vaping is bad for you to social media, teen mental health, ADHD, animation tools and the advertising industry. Way to go, seventh graders!

Students Harvest Carrots and Peas in the School Garden
The spring harvest is here! Students picked carrots and peas this week in the school garden. Thank you, Mrs. Hillary, for your leadership and guidance in the garden.

Ukulele Elective Performance
Students in the ukulele elective finished up their six-week session and gave a concert performance of “He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands” for teachers and students during discipleship.

4th & 5th Graders Read Story Projects to K/1 Students
This time of year is when students finish up long-term projects — such as the 4th & 5th graders who have been writing their own children’s books all semester. This week they read their masterpieces to students in kindergarten and first grade.

6th & 7th Graders Learn About Teamwork in Discipleship
Sixth and seventh graders learned about working together as a team during this “crossing the river” discipleship game.

9th Graders Work on End-of-Year Discipleship Projects
The ninth graders are working together on a special display for their end-of-year discipleship project. We look forward to seeing the finished product!

Indoor Recess on a Rainy Day
On a stormy day, what’s the best way to spend recess? Singing karaoke and passing the football, of course! That’s what hte 4th and 5th graders did for fun during a rainy-day break.

Panning for Gold in 3rd-5th Grade While Learning About the Gold Rush

Both plays will be performed; “Fairytale Invasion” is a comedic drama about learning to be confident in your own story. “Hoodie” is a coming-of-age story in which middle school characters explore self-image and fitting in. Both are appropriate for all ages, and the run time — with intermission — is approximately 2 hours total. You can purchase tickets here.
