7th/8th Graders Serve at Hospital Art Foundation

Last week, our seventh and eighth graders had the opportunity to serve a local nonprofit, Hospital Art Foundation, to paint canvases that will be sent to different hospitals in the area.

6th/7th Graders Read to Their K/1 Buddies

Our sixth and seventh grade students have been faithfully serving our youngest students for several months. This week, they read colorful picture books together.

K-5 “Enjoy” Walking in John the Baptist’s Shoes

Our elementary school students learned about John the Baptist’s and Jesus’ baptisms this week in devotions. Some of that teaching included John the Baptist’s original, if not odd, food choices. So if students wanted, they got a chance to try chocolate-covered crickets (a little more palatable than just regular crickets and honey). A small group of students decided to try the cricket fare.

4th/5th Learn Text Features and K-5 Science Fun

Learning the features of a nonfiction text is important as students get older and spend more of their time reading to learn rather than learning to read. Our 4th and 5th graders participated in a scavenger hunt of text features to solidify their understanding of key text components. And in science, Mrs. Cori invited students to get hands-on with the study of genetics and heredity.

Club Day #3

This week’s Club Day saw students exploring a variety of interests, including gymnastics, art, bearded dragons and trick shots. There was a little something for everyone!

REACH Higher with January’s Spotlight on Visual Art and the Performing Arts

Our REACH program, where all students get to explore areas of interest and giftedness, is spotlighting visual art and the performing arts this month so that your students have time to prepare for the Arts Showcase on March 2. Find out all the details about the upcoming Arts Showcase here, or explore other areas of interest on the main REACH homepage.
