8th-graders study velocity, speed and acceleration in physical science

Last week, our 8th-graders took part in a lab to measure the velocity, speed and acceleration of a wind-up car.

K-5th grade plants basil seeds

Our elementary school students are learning about the parts of a plant and how each part sustains the growth and vitality of the plant. So this week, they planted basil seeds in science.

Club Day #1 kicks off

This month, we had four clubs: gymnastics, crafts, dogs and gem-mining. All four clubs had a great showing and seemed to be very popular with the students.

Gem Mining Club

After-school electives are a hit

From the focus of chess to the freedom of a walk, our students chose a variety of after-school electives in which to participate. Ukulele class, walking club and chess club were a huge hit!

Mystery reader helps 2nd grade learn about authors

One of our second-grade parents came in to read to the students a book written by author David Shannon. He’s a popular author, and many students had their own copies of the book, “A Bad Case of Stripes.”

4th and 5th graders practice spelling outside

One of the perks of the fabulous weather we’ve had this week is outdoor spelling! Our 4th and 5th graders took advantage of it by bouncing, writing, and water-painting their word lists on the playground.

Fall Family Fun Night was a blast

Thank you to everyone who shared a side dish or dessert, baked or bought something for our Owl Walk, and brought rocks and/or candy corn for the students to paint and toss into games. By the looks of it, everyone had a blast. We look forward to the spring family fun night in 2023!
