Kindergarten works on number drawing and takes a brain break

Kindergarten crafted numbers in a variety of ways this week: through dry-erase drawings and a walk to collect nature-based items that would be combined to make numbers. And brain breaks are a must!

K-5th learns about Georgia peaches and prepares club day proposals

In social studies, our K-5th grade learned about where they live. So to experience Georgia, they sampled peaches, and some completed Club Day proposal forms for our very first Club Day coming up soon!

2nd grade shares personal narratives and cozies up their classroom

Our second-grade class continued to cozy up their room decor and presented the personal narratives they’ve been working so hard to complete.

4th and 5th graders help each other revise writing assignments

Students helped each other with peer revisions for their essays!

5th grade makes Native American Longhouses

6th grade plays math games and works on Language Arts in study hall

Our 6th-grade students played a fun math review game and had time to finish up Language Arts reading and writing in study hall this week.

8th graders discuss life skills and learn about StoryLab@Learnwell

Our 8th graders are learning life skills such as time management and faith in the context of all their classes, but during the devotional/life skills block, they get a chance to learn and discuss specific applications of these skills. They also got to hear about the new partnership between StoryLab and Learnwell this year. Eighth-grade students will have the opportunity to learn how to tell others’ stories through film. This week, they sat in on a recording as a local businessman shared his story.

Middle school AFT #1 is in the books

Students in middle school enjoyed the extra hangout time in our after-school block this week.

Lunch is always a home run

K-5th plays a devotional game

Our elementary school students learned about everyday heroes who make great sacrifices in their career fields before then learning about the sacrifice story of Abraham and Isaac and the Ultimate Sacrifice of Christ.
