K-1 gets two special visits: Mystery Readers galore

Our kindergarten and first-grade classes got to hear books from two special guests this week: Spot, the dog, and a VIP Mystery Reader. And our K students got to practice forming shapes from playdough.

2nd grade gets another Mystery Reader and enjoys writing

For the second week in a row, the 2nd grade class has had a Mystery Reader! They also enjoyed their daily writing prompt and Show-and-Tell.

3rd grade gets off to a great start with a “team” meeting

You’ll see more of these students in our celebratory s’mores and devotional pics. But this was so cute, we had to snap a photo of their class meeting time.

K-5th celebrates the first day of fall with s’mores (untoasted)

We saw loads of smiles today as teachers allowed students to create their own s’mores (and wear pajamas!) in the spirit of cooler weather. (Ironically, the first official day of fall brought a warm front with temps reaching 94 degrees today. Let’s hope cooler weather is on its way.)

K-5th devotionals: creating the Red Sea

Students this week learned about Exodus, so they made their own Red Sea out of pudding.

8th graders work on history and language arts

Our 8th graders talk about life skills and work hard at Georgia History and a pop quiz about The Hiding Place.

6th/7th graders explore photosynthesis

Science is fun! “Mom, look what we made!”

4th/5th grade enjoyed creative grammar, writing time, and “trashketball”

Our 4th/5th graders have been busy this week: drawing similes and taking part in a punctuation scoot, extra cozy writing time, and math reviews that combine trash and basketball. (Punctuation scoot = Complete a task on the task card related to punctuation skills and then scoot to the next activity.)
