8th Grade Life Skills Class Learns about Brain Modalities and the Pomodoro Method

Our 8th graders are jumping right into life skills! This week, they learned about Focus and Diffuse modes of the brain and got to experience the reward of the Pomodoro study method by playing a game of tag.

Kindergarten Gets Messy with Handwriting and Learns T is for Turtle

Our kindergarteners got messy this week to learn how to form letters; they also learned the letter sound that “T” makes by constructing their own turtles.

K-5 Students Learn the Science of Speed and Acceleration

K-5 students did everything from races to ramps and object drops to study the science behind speed and acceleration.

Watch the video finale here.

1st Graders Get Hands On with Science

Our first graders had fun with paint during science with Mrs. Kayla on Thursday!

4th-5th Stay Cool with Indoor Recess

It’s been a hot week! Our 4th and 5th graders know how to enjoy some downtime and stay cool at the same time.

4th Graders’ Calculations and Bar Graphs in the Garden

The Learnwell Garden hosted our 4th graders this week so that they could survey the growth by calculating and turning those calculations into bar graphs.

5th Graders Play a Partial Product Math Extension Game

Who doesn’t want to learn math through a hands-on game? Our 5th graders did just that this week to learn about partial products.

6th Graders Work on Writing

Writing is an integral skill no matter what our students end up pursuing for a career. The sixth graders’ new Chromebooks helped them get extra practice with a little help from IEW.

9th Grade Civics Class Builds Gummy Bear Dioramas of American Principles

The ninth graders could use a handful of gummy bears, drawing supplies, and other things they found in Mrs. Castro’s classroom to create a diorama of one of the American principles. Can you guess which diorama goes with which principle?
