K-5 Devotional Game
This week, our K-5th graders enjoyed playing a game where they had to “fall asleep” if they were tagged; it illustrated this week’s alphabetical study of God’s attributes, the letter N for “Never Tires.” God never tires, but we do! Students enjoyed this fun devotional that allowed them to get in a little extra physical activity.

6th/7th Devotional Game and Outdoor ELA
Our sixth and seventh graders played a game of Fountain and Drain this week to discuss what it feels like to be a fountain in someone’s life and what it could look like to be a drain during their devotional time. Both classes also spent time outside during English/Language Arts.

2nd/3rd Grade Make Stone Soup
Our second and third-graders traditionally read the book “Stone Soup” at this time of year, and they each bring in ingredients to assemble a crockpot full of Stone Soup. Here they’re listening to a read-aloud version of the story after making the soup.

Bulletin Board Sprucing
If you’ve been down the hallways lately, you might notice a little sprucing up we’ve been doing to the bulletin boards. In the coming months, these boards will change periodically to feature highlights in some of our special programs — such as our Fun Fridays, electives, and REACH — as well as ongoing features like science, seasons, and mental health.

Physical, Emotional and Mental Health Focus in K-5
Students in K-5 are learning about all kinds of ways to take care of themselves. Being healthy physically, mentally, and emotionally is important. They’ve instructed each other in fitness games, learned about ways to process emotions, and discussed how boost mental health. Some made breathing bracelets and learned slow breathing techniques; others learned exercises such as yoga, stretching and outdoor games; the exploration of health continues next week.

Drama Rehearsals for Christmas Play
Our 1st through 6th graders are already rehearsing for the Christmas play, “12 Symbols of Christmas,” which will be at school on Dec. 7th. They’re off to a great start! (Thank you to all the parents who are letting us borrow a few things for our set.)
