“May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!” – Psalm 29:11
January welcomed us back with new beginnings and excited hearts! After Christmas break, our students settled into their routines, worked hard in the classroom, and enjoyed reconnecting with friends and teachers.
HIGH SCHOOL RETREAT
Though our high schoolers had to shorten their trip due to weather, they had a fun time connecting and getting to know each other better in the beautiful mountains!

K – 2ND GRADE

Kindergarteners had loads of fun from stretching slime to indoor bowling. They have been able to grow in their reading, spelling, and writing skills with their own buddy! A great way to learn by working together.

Our 1st grade T/Th class learned how to tell time through games, practiced their spelling with play dough, and replaced commas with macaroni!

Our 1st/2nd M/W class did a science experiment to create snow when we had ice one of the weeks! First graders learned about the solar system and created storms in a bottle to learn about Jupiter. Second graders had an idiom fashion show to reinforce their understanding of figurative language. They also learned to slice compound words in half!

Our 2nd grade T/Th class explored the Story Lab, practiced personification through painting, and learned fractions by using oreo’s!

3RD – 5TH GRADE
Our 3rd graders in both M/W and T/Th classes learned about money, played outside in the winter cold, and made the sun and planets during science!

Our 4th grade T/Th class had their book of the month presentations and additional reading lessons. They practiced their writing by creating Pegasus drawings to go with their lesson.

Our 4th/5th M/W class had great math fun! They even celebrated several birthday and learned to encourage others.

Our 5th graders in the T/Th class explored the properties of gelatin, wrote like athenians using wax tablets, and had reading time with 6th grade buddies.

Middle & High School

Our 6th graders learned more about Greek history and practiced their presentation skills. They also practiced their acting by reenacting a beloved Bible story, Daniel and the Lions Den! See a glimpse below!

7th graders had Greek thinker projects plus a Daniel and the Lions Den story interview!

Our 8th graders had Civil War presentations and the opportunity to take a field trip to the Georgia Capitol!

9th graders learned what it takes to become a farmer in a developed country in AP Human Geography. In Biology, freshmen surveyed elementary for inherited traits.

10th grade students in World History studied the industrial revolution by replicating an assembly line making standardized Valentines.

LOOKING AHEAD TO FEBRUARY
With Valentine’s Day parties to another 8th grade field trip, we have a lot in store for our students in this short month! Plus, another winter break for us!
