November: Thankful Hearts

A grateful heart is one that finds the countless blessings of God in the seemingly mundane.”

Ann Voskamp

Kindergarteners played Thanksgiving Bingo with our 7th-grade helper, had sight word reflection in Science, learned adding with cubes, and used fly swatters to learn their letters!

1st grader T/Th Class learned about shadows and how to tie their shoes with buddies! They also had their very own Macy’s Parade!

Our 1st and 2nd M/W Class made pretend pies and graphed the ingredients to practice bar graphs! They also had their spiderweb STEM project. The students had balloons over Broadway Balloon Parade and made posters to show our gratitude for Mr. Tiffani, Mrs. Cori, Mrs. Kayla, and Dr. Shipman.

Our 2nd-grade Tuesday/Thursday class had created Thanksgiving art, a PJ day, and an egg drop challenge! They learned to work together in math groups.

Both our M/W and T/Th classes of 3rd graders enjoyed many projects with their classmates, practiced their writing skills, and had time in the StoryLab!

Our 4th graders, including some 5th graders, enjoyed the egg drop challenge, practiced IEW writing from picture essays, played math games, and more!

5th graders dove into a lively math trashketball review, practiced spelling, and teamed up with 6th grade buddies for Domino Decimals. In Social Studies they created decorative glass “windows” and planned their own schedule democratically, along with other engaging activities throughout November.

6TH – 8TH GRADE

6th graders had delicious Greek food!

Not only did our 7th graders enjoy Greek food as well, but they also learned how to use songs to memorize Bible verses! Take a look at the video below to see how our 7th grade boys created their own unique style.

Our 8th graders used skits as a way of learning!

9th graders continued into their AP Human Geography journey with Mrs. Castro. They had a cultural food day this month! Take a closer look at our students.

Our 10th and 11th-graders gathered together this month for a time of fellowship and fun!
