October: Learning in Full Color

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” — Colossians 3:23

Kindergarteners experienced StoryLab and had plenty of opportunities to paint, especially pumpkins!

1st graders tasted delicious apples and had their first ice cream party! Our Tuesday/Thursday class had a pajama day for winning one of the Fun Run’s daily fundraising competitions!

Our 1st and 2nd M/W Class created fun fall crafts, explored with magnets, and had their very own publishing party!

From craft days to small groups, our 2nd-grade Tuesday/Thursday class had a great time learning in different ways! They had so much fun playing math games to practice their new skills!

3rd graders enjoyed petting the service dog and worked in groups! They practiced an egg drop challenge, learned parts of speech, and had multiplication fun!

Our 4th graders, including some 5th graders, made multiple crafts, explored the StoryLab, and were able to write while being outdoors!

Our 5th graders know how to have fun even on rainy days! From algebraic reasoning puzzles to spelling practice, our students continue to excel!

6TH – 8TH GRADE

6th graders explored the solar system by creating their own planets!

Our 7th graders had an exciting month! They teamed up with their younger buddies for fun learning activities, presented creative ELA projects, and explored space science through a hands-on meteoroid demo and planet studies.

Our 8th graders visited the Little White House, gaining a deeper appreciation for history and leadership, and brought science to life by exploring Newton’s three laws of motion—especially inertia and the effects of friction.

Our 9th graders dug deeper into their AP Human Geography class this month! They examined cultural landscapes by studying how familiar places—like McDonald’s—reflect the blending of global and local influences. It was a creative and insightful way to connect real-world examples to what they’re learning in class.

Our 10th graders brought literature to life this month—literally! While studying Frankenstein in ELA, they created models of Victor’s creature, exploring themes of creation, responsibility, and humanity in a hands-on way. It was a creative and memorable way to deepen their understanding of the novel.

11th graders enjoyed taking their class photo on School Picture Day in October! They also had their AP US History class with Ms. Castro, which challenges the 11th graders to think deeply!

LOOKING AHEAD TO NOVEMBER

November is shaping up to be a month full of focus, creativity, and celebration! Freshmen will engage in special Freshman Focus activities to set goals and reflect on growth. Students across grades will showcase their ingenuity at the Innovation Expo. Families can look forward to time together over Thanksgiving Break as we wrap up the month with gratitude and connection.
