“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1
Hello, Fall Fun! 🍎🍁
September brought cooler mornings, hints of pumpkin spice, and plenty of laughter echoing through the hallways. Just as the changing leaves remind us of God’s beauty in every season, September was full of joy, learning, and growth together. Fall break was a welcome pause in the midst of it all—a chance for students and families to rest, recharge, and return ready for the months ahead.
K – 7th Field Trip to Carlos Museum
This month kicked off with our K–7th students learning beyond the classroom walls, with their families, on a trip to the Carlos Museum. They explored fascinating exhibits, connected their studies to history and culture, and gained new insights that sparked curiosity.

K – 2ND GRADE
September was filled with big firsts for our youngest learners! From discovering the joy of story time to practicing their first writing strokes, these students dove right into routines and learning.

Kindergarteners harvested fresh basil, learned how to make pesto, and danced to nursery rhymes! They even learned how to work together in math center times and create letter tile robots.

1st graders had a great library story time with lots of movement and adventure. They also enjoyed more math games and even celebrated some birthdays along the way!

Our 1st and 2nd M/W Cohorts had loads of fun hanging out with the librarian, using fidget spinners in math, and practicing Phonics with magnetic wands and snap cubes. They even enjoyed a game of Bingo!

2nd graders dove into reading and writing by creatively expressing what they’ve read through imagery and art.

3RD – 5TH GRADE
Our upper elementary students spent September building confidence and independence. They settled into new classrooms, tackled their first projects of the year, and began working together in groups.
3rd graders enjoyed working together during math problems and reading chapter books outdoors. They continue to practice their writing skills as they build meaningful friendships!

Our 4th graders, along with some of our 5th graders, presented Mr. Poppers Penguin projects, practiced editing their peer essays, and enjoyed factoring rainbows.

5th graders used color coding for persuasive writing components while presenting to their peers. They practiced innovative inventions in Science and solved escape room puzzles.

GRANDPARENT’S DAY 👵👴
On September 9–10, our K–3 students welcomed grandparents and special guests to Learnwell for our annual Grandparents Tea. It was a sweet morning filled with smiles, conversation, and joy as students shared their school day with some of the most important people in their lives.

6TH – 8TH GRADE
September brought new challenges and growth for our middle schoolers. They adjusted to rotating classes and managing increased responsibilities, while also enjoying opportunities for teamwork and deeper discussions. Their enthusiasm set the tone for a strong year ahead.

6th graders continued learning in their Life Skills and Discipleship class through the Bible. Besides having fun at recess, they build confidence in their presentation skills!

7th graders studied how God’s truth equips them to face challenges, while they strengthened problem-solving skills through hands-on projects. They also worked on teamwork, presenting, and perseverance, learning how to encourage one another.

Our 8th graders kicked off their “Introduction to StoryLab” in September. They are spending one period a week in the StoryLab with Ms. Stephanie to learn all of the roles of the StoryLab production crew. After their introduction, they can apply to be a StoryLab Assistant!
Family Fun Night! ☀️
One of the highlights of September was our annual Family Fun Night! At Fowler Park, families, students, and teachers came together for an evening full of laughter, yard games, and community.
More than anything, it was a night of connection, reminding us how meaningful it is for students to see their teachers outside of the classroom.

9TH – 11TH GRADE
For our high school students, September was a month of fresh goals and new opportunities. They jumped into advanced coursework, leadership roles, and collaborative projects, setting the stage for a year of learning and growth.

Our StoryLab @ Learnwell moved rooms over the summer, so 9th grade StoryLab Assistants helped get the new room set and cleaned! Ninth graders spent a lot of time learning more about their required four job shadows with Mrs. Maher in Life Skills & Discipleship.

10th graders engaged in deeper learning by tackling challenging concepts across subjects and connecting their studies to real-world applications. They also focused on growing in responsibility and independence, learning how to balance academics with personal faith and character development.

11th graders sharpened their critical thinking skills through advanced coursework and meaningful class discussions.
