First Graders Finish Level 1 of AAR
First-graders are all smiles as they celebrate completing level one of the All About Reading curriculum. Way to go, students! You should be very proud of yourselves.

Second Graders Take Advantage of Spring Weather
The second graders took advantage of the beautiful spring weather last week by playing adverb games outside on the playground. They also helped each other practice math facts.

Middle School Students Learn about Temperaments
In Life Skills & Discipleship last week, students in sixth and seventh grade learned about personality and temperaments when guest speaker Rachel Petty spoke to their classes about the curriculum, “I Said This, You Heard That: How Your Wiring Colors Your Communication” by Kathleen Edelman. It’s also a great communication tool for families.

6th & 7th Graders Study Central Nervous System
The sixth and seventh graders have been busy learning about their bodies this week in science. They’ve covered the brain and how the central nervous system impacts reaction time. In this experiment, they learned about neurotransmitters, dendrites, and how the nervous system communicates with our brain.

StoryLab Recitations in 4th Grade
Ms. Robertson’s fourth graders worked hard to memorize portions of Scripture and recited original poems for special projects in the StoryLab last week. They also shared illustrations and explained the meaning behind the verses and poetry. Well done, class!

Final Club Day of the Year: Puppies, Pokemon, Archaeology, Jets, Pancakes & Tag
Students’ creativity in leading clubs that interest them always amazes us! This final Club Day of the year was no different; we had students leading clubs about puppies, an entire club devoted to Pokemon and archaeology, a club where students learned a variety of ways to play tag, a jet club and a pancake club (yum!). Thank you to all the students who raised their hand for leadership, and thank you to all the parents who helped them prepare.

Eighth Graders Study Social Media, Teach About Fake News
Our 8th-graders taught classmates about fake news and advertisements during their social media unit in Life Skills & Discipleship.

High School Students Visit KSU
Ninth and tenth graders toured Kennesaw State University last Friday to gain an understanding of what an in-town campus looks like. They saw several academic buildings (and the all-important food venues!) and learned about some of the clubs, activities and fields of study available to students enrolled at KSU.

VEX Robotics Class Inspires Students for Future Learning
The third- to fifth-grade elective VEX Robotics class continues to inspire students to envision their futures in fields such as engineering, IT, construction, architecture, and AI-enabled studies. We’re proud of these students who are working hard (and having a blast!) in their Fun Friday electives class.
