“Hoodie” Cast Performs at One-Act Play Festival

Our middle school drama cast of “Hoodie” performed recently at the Gapps One-Act Play Festival in Eatonton, Georgia. They won the highest rating, too: Superior! We are so proud of our cast and crew!

Guest Speaker from Water Is Basic Visits Students

Our Walk for Water 1-mile walk to benefit clean water in South Sudan is April 17th. So, Walk for Water Development Director Carrie Ward visited Learnwell to teach students why clean water is so crucial for South Sudanese students and their families. Learnwell students also wrote letters to students in South Sudan, which Carrie will deliver to them on her next trip there at the end of February.

Health Careers Exploration Continues in K-5th

Our K-5th graders continued their social studies unit, exploring health-related careers with guest speakers from the fields of pharmacy and nursing.

5th Grader Saves Class Cash for Puppy Love

A fifth grader in Mrs. Cori’s class saved up her class cash (earned for being considerate, prepared, and respectful) to purchase a “show-and-share” ticket for her puppy to come to class. Awww, puppy love!

Seventh Graders Act Out a Reader’s Theater from “The Witch of Blackbird Pond”

After wrapping up this novel by Elizabeth George Speare, 7th graders performed as part of a readers’ theater, where they acted out various scenes from the classic book.

Birthday Fun in 2nd Grade & 6th-Grade Samson Retelling

Second graders enjoyed celebrating a classmate’s birthday recently while the sixth graders were busy trying to retell the story of Samson and Delilah from Judges 6 in the Old Testament.

1st Graders Explore Non-Standard Units of Measure

The first grade class enjoyed their pursuit of non-standard units of measure, using everything around the classroom to measure! They also got messy and had fun learning with shaving cream.

4th Graders Enjoy Indoor Recess & Long Division

Our fourth-grade students are working hard at long division; well done! They also got a fun-filled indoor recess and are continuing (with all the elementary school students) to log minutes for the February Read-A-Thon!
