Fourth and fifth graders practiced spelling words in two different ways, first, with messy shaving cream and, second, playing basketball.

Discovering Jesus: Fully Human & Fully God

Students in kindergarten through fifth grade made posters to illustrate that Jesus was fully human while he lived on earth and fully God.

Robotics Team Finishes Strong

The third and final VEX IQ competition of the Learnwell Owls robotics team, held at Lanier Middle School, was a strong showing, particularly since three team members were out due to illness. The team scored 27/41 in the Alliance Challenge, where different teams are paired up with their robots to work together to score as many points as they can. They scored 21/41 in the skills challenge, where just the Learnwell Owls robot was tested scoring on a field. Way to persevere, Owls!

K-5th Compost Managers in Training

After learning about compost managers in science, our kindergarteners through fifth graders made edible compost this week.

Chick-fil-A Reading Reward Lunch = Huge Hit in Middle School

Middle schoolers who completed Mrs. Hyland’s Chick-fil-A Reading Challenge were rewarded this week with lunch from CFA. Way to go, students!

Middle schoolers are learning about how to honor God with their bodies by taking care of themselves mentally and physically. This week, they took part in physical activity challenges.

Brrr, Indoor Recess for K/1st Students

Our youngest students took to the classroom for recess this week, playing indoors due to the cold temperatures; all students enjoyed an extra at-home learning day earlier in the week because of the winter weather forecast.

Third Graders Learn About Math Through Money

The third grade class continued their study of mathematical skills by counting money this week. They got to “shop” in the classroom store and practice counting change to make a purchase.

Fun Friday Electives Kick Off for Term No. 3

The third term of Fun Friday Electives kicked off with many smiles. A new elective, a VEX robotics class for third to fifth graders, serves as a compelling primer for students who may be interested in joining Learnwell’s robotics team in middle school. Art and Spanish students enjoyed the opportunity to get creative with hands-on skills practice.
