Trivia: Which state gets the most snow?
According to the 2024 World Population Review, the snowiest state is Alaska!
(But every once in a while, the great state of Georgia gets a little snow, too. What a fun end to the school week with a rare snow day this week!)
Snowflakes with Buddies
Our kindergarten and first-grade classes enjoyed seeing their 7th-grade Buddies again after a few weeks off from school. When they made snowflakes together, they learned that no two snowflakes are alike, much like God creates each human being to be unique. They also learned about Psalm 139:14, which declares, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

Old and New Friends
Coming back after three weeks off was a sweet reunion for so many students! We have several new students starting this semester, too, and we’re excited about the friendships forming in several classes. Way to be welcoming, Owls!

Scripture Is the Foundation of Biblical Literacy & Discipleship
Back from Christmas Break means back to learning about our foundations in the Bible! K-5th grade students used a mixture of American Sign Language and their own made-up motions to remember this week’s Scripture verse.

In 8th and 10th grade, students explored the depths of Scripture in various ways just before Christmas Break. The eighth graders participated in an activity that illustrated the theme of many of Paul’s letters in the New Testament: how essential it is to be united and share the good news of Jesus! Tenth graders also shared word study projects based on the word “Shema” from Deuteronomy 6:4-5. Students had to choose a specific Hebrew word they had studied in class and present it through a creative project/reflection. This week in Life Skills, the 8th-graders learned about active listening.

Math Is Fun!
Students in second and fourth grade had some fun math lessons — involving oreos, houses and floor tape shapes. All the while, they were learning about fractions, standard units of measurement, and metric measurements!

Fourth graders are also learning about how to communicate — and how not to communicate — through games and grammar.

Third Graders Learn Map Skills in Geography
Third graders are learning about towns, so this week they made their own transportation maps in geography and social studies.

First Graders Enjoy Snacks and Story Time with Mrs. Kayla
Who doesn’t love a good story while you’re taking a break for snack time?!

Pets, Music and Dancing, Oh My!
Fifth-grade students in Mrs. Cori’s class are learning about World War I, so they listened to a record of songs recorded during that era, danced, and enjoyed the classroom pet’s wanderings while they worked on writing projects.

Honors English Projects in High School A Smashing Success
