Christmas Bazaar a Fundraising Hit

The week before Thanksgiving break, students in 6th and 7th grade sold hand-made items and baked goods to benefit two charities: St. Jude’s Hospital and FurKids. Students in sixth grade raised $454 for FurKids, and students in seventh grade raised $512 for St. Jude’s. We are SO proud of these students and how hard they worked for the benefit of others.

7th Graders Help Their K/1st Buddies

The seventh grade Buddies are serving their friends in kindergarten and first grade week after week as they help them practice handwriting, number skills and reading.

Mrs. Kayla Helps First Graders Understand Thanksgiving Traditions through Reading

First-grade teacher Mrs. Kayla helped her class understand the tradition of the Thanksgiving Day Parade through Manhattan by reading “Balloons Over Brooklyn.” The students then made their own balloons.

Jesus Jumped the Chasm for Us

In K-5th discipleship, students have been learning that Jesus jumped the chasm for us when it was too big for us to jump; in other words, He paid the high price of sin because we couldn’t make ourselves whole on our own. Students enjoyed trying to jump the chasm as it grew wider and wider.

6th & 7th Graders Engage in Dramatic Retelling of Bible History

Students in sixth and seventh grade acted out some of the Ten Commandments to show what they’ve learned about walking with God. Other students in each class had to guess which commandments were being acted out; what a fun way to review Bible history.

Research Presentations in Civics Help Students Understand Congressmen & Women Better

Students in Civics learned about and presented their findings about members of Congress right before Thanksgiving break. Whether they agreed with their Congress representative’s stances or not, they all learned that researching is paramount to understanding how our government leaders make decisions.

8th Graders Present History Research Projects

The 8th graders researched aspects of life during the Civil War and shared their findings in Georgia History. After each presentation, classmates had a chance to ask questions, provide feedback, and reflect on how well they had done.

Math Games, Creative Writing Spaces and Science Exploration Make Learning Fun in 5th Grade

Having special creative writing spots throughout the classroom and playing multiplication BINGO make learning math and writing skills fun in fifth grade! Science exploration takes on a whole new meaning wi th hands-on learning about research and observation.

6th & 7th Graders Continue Dissections to Learn about Biology

Dissecting clams is just one way our middle school students are learning about the biology of living organisms.

Robotics Regional Competition a Terrific Learning Experience

Over Thanksgiving break, our robotics team took part in a regional competition. They learned so much and had a great time!
