“If you want to be an entrepreneur, fail as fast as you can. The longer you go without that experience, the more afraid you will be of it, and then you will never do it!” -Jeffry Timmons, author of “New Venture Creation – Entrepreneurship for the 21st Century”
Foundations for Leadership: Reading, Math, History and Life Skills
The skills students learn in reading (4th grade, shown), math (7th grade, shown), life skills and history (8th grade, shown) give students the foundation they need to think creatively and critically, which are the bedrock of problem-solving and strong leadership. In life skills, 8th graders constructed mnemonic devices to remember something as part of their understanding of how our long-term memory and working memory work! In history, they’re learning about Georgia’s relationship to Great Britain in the late 18th century. Fourth and seventh graders practice foundational reading and math skills together.

Seventh Graders Practice Servant Leadership Skills and Form Friendships with Kindergarteners and First Graders
Learning how to engage a younger student through reading and number sense is one of the foundational leadership skills seventh graders are practicing this year. Each seventh-grade student is matched with either a kindergartener or a first-grader, which is what we call our Buddies program. Throughout the school year, they will form friendships, which will help younger students view older students as friends and help older students learn the value of serving others.

Extracurricular Activities Are Off to a Strong Start
Through Fun Friday electives and after-school activities such as art, drama, chorus, robotics, and HTML, Learnwell offers extracurricular activities for students of all grade levels.

Erosion Labs & Atomic Mass Calculations = Fun Science & Math
Students in K-5th grade have been learning about erosion and land changes, so the labs have brought all their knowledge to life. In 10th grade, students calculated the atomic mass of the element “stackium” in chemistry. If you don’t remember that element on the periodic chart, don’t worry — it’s a variety of yummy snacks you can eat when you’re finished with your calculations!

Kindergarteners and First-Graders Learn About Fast Land Changes by Making Volcanoes Together
Who wants to go outside to learn?
Learnwell students do!
So, they get to learn outside as much as possible, especially when an experiment might get a little messy. Enter volcano-making in the K/1 classes…

Geography, History and the Bible Come to Life Thanks to Special Visitors
In elementary and middle school, students had the chance to meet and hear from one of our Navigator families about the area of the world where they live: Kyrgyzstan. Students learned about how the country differs because it’s a nomadic culture and how that impacts education, sports, and everyday life. They even learned about the Old Testament culture’s similarities with a nomadic lifestyle and that God isn’t limited by geography; He’s everywhere. Not only did students learn from one another, our Navigator friends were able to learn in community, and they all formed friendships that transcend location. We’re so thankful for our partnerships with families worldwide because of the Learnwell Navigator program.
