First Graders Publish Books
The first graders finished a long project this week and celebrated together the publishing of their very own books. They had to research, write, and illustrate the books – way to go, first grade!

K/1 Buddies Work Together on Summer Readiness Projects
The sixth and seventh graders helped their K/1 buddies work on summer readiness and review projects this week.







9th Graders Record “Thank You” Messages to Job Shadow Mentors
The ninth graders recorded video messages in the Storylab this week to say “thank you” to the mentors who allowed them to shadow and interview them for their Life Skills class. Students shared that the job shadow experiences helped them learn more about themselves and how God has wired them.





4th Grade Hosts ELA All Day Activities
Fourth graders spent an entire day on ELA activities, including grammar games, reading their novel in the dark with glow sticks, etc.




5th Grade’s Math All Day Activities, Helping K/1 Students & Publishing Party
The fifth graders spent time helping K/1 students with math review and took part in a Math All Day celebration with games and other activities. They also spent a day on ELA activities, including a publishing party showcasing their own books.







K-5th Graders Learn About Faith and Trust in Discipleship
Using a balloon-skewer experiment as an object lesson, Mrs. Cori taught students in K-5th that our faith in God is actionable — when we trust Him for our needs and to do what may even seem impossible.



8th Graders Act Out “Taming of the Shrew”
The 8th-graders are reading Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew,” acting it out as they go in reader’s theater.


8th/9th Graders Attend “To Kill A Mockingbird” at the Fox Theatre
Last weekend, some of the 8th and 9th graders met Mrs. Castro at the Fox Theatre to attend a live performance of an adaption of “To Kill A Mockingbird” since they’ve all read the original novel by Harper Lee.



Students and Staff Celebrate Dr. Shipman’s Birthday
Dr. Shipman’s birthday was a school-wide celebration complete with stickers for every student to wear, and many of them sang to Dr. Shipman throughout the day. She was surprised to receive a gift basket and lunch from the teachers and staff. Happy Birthday, Dr. Shipman. We hope you felt seen, known, and loved.


8th Grade Graduation Ceremony
Dr. Shipman and teachers presented 8th-graders with graduation gifts and blessings as they finish their middle school career. Parents enjoyed a reception after the ceremony. Congratulations, 8th graders! You’ve worked so hard! To see all the photos, click through the gallery below.
6th & 7th Graders Play Oregon Trail Game in History
The sixth and seventh graders completed their study of pioneer days by playing Oregon Trail games in history.





Mrs. Hyland Celebrates Spring Break Readers with Lunch from Chick-fil-A
Mrs. Hyland challenged her ELA classes to read novels over Spring Break and complete some reading activities. It was optional, but many students completed the assignment and — surprise! — this week they received their reward: lunch from Chick-fil-A. Thank you, Mrs. Hyland, for helping your students go above and beyond.



Drama Department Performs Two One-Act Plays
Last weekend, our drama department — grades six through nine — performed two one-act plays: “Hoodie” and “Fairytale Invasion.” The Friday night and Saturday shows were packed, and each cast did a fabulous job. Thank you to Mrs. Hammond for her direction, Mrs. Jenny for her oversight of the production team, and all the parent volunteers who helped along the way. 6th/7th Graders Act Out Malachi in Discipleship
In Discipleship, sixth and seventh graders acted out part of the book of Malachi.




K-5 Students Review History in Jeopardy Game
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade reviewed this semester’s history topics through a Jeopardy game.Mrs. Jessica had an incredible helper to make sure she kept the score accurately. It was a close race, but Team 3 won with over 3,000 points!

Second graders practiced multiplication facts by playing Multiplication BINGO together.
